What to expect from this webinar:
Radiotherapy is a common but less well researched therapeutic area in the treatment of cancer; yet it has been proven to be a highly effective form of treatment against many common cancer types.
The aim of this talk is to provide an introduction to design of clinical trials where radiotherapy is the main treatment of interest.
The talk will initially outline how radiotherapy can be used as a treatment for cancer including different forms of radiotherapy delivery, and its intent. It will then go on to discuss some of the challenges faced, and in particular the statistical considerations, when it comes to designing clinical trials of radiotherapies. Finally, real-world examples of ongoing radiotherapy trials across different clinical trial phases will be presented, showcasing how some of these challenges, particular to radiotherapy, have tried to be addressed in their design.
