As we mark International Women’s Day 2025, Phastar is calling for accelerated action toward gender equality in data and STEM fields. At the current pace, full gender parity won’t be reached until 2158, making it crucial for our industry to act now. While Phastar is proud that over 56% of our data experts are women, broader systemic change is needed.
Our Head of Statistics, Vicky Marriot, authored a piece for Applied Clinical Trials discussing ideas to address this imbalance by tackling early barriers in STEM education, improving retention through mentorship and flexible policies, and increasing representation in leadership roles to bridge skills gaps and foster innovation.
”As an industry we need to take swift and decisive action to achieve gender equality, with a focus on pay and representation across all seniority levels. We need to acknowledge and address the systemic barriers and biases that women in STEM face and accelerate action to speed up progress.”
