Can you tell us a bit about your background and what led you to join Phastar?
I have over 10 years of experience in the events industry, having graduated in Event and Festival Management. After relocating to Sheffield to kickstart my career, I gained hands-on experience delivering a variety of events, from workshops and training days to residential and online conferences across the public and charity sectors. This diverse background gave me a strong foundation in event planning and execution.
Joining Phastar was the perfect opportunity to apply my skills in a dynamic, progressive environment. What really stood out to me was how closely Phastar’s values of excellence, collaboration, integrity, innovation, and passion align with my own. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of a team that upholds these principles while delivering high-quality biometrics and data science solutions.
What is your role at Phastar, and what do you enjoy most about your day-to-day responsibilities?
As the Events Marketing Manager, no two days are ever the same. I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide range of events, from intimate 200-person symposiums to large-scale residential conferences with over 4,000 attendees. I really enjoy the variety and the challenge of ensuring each event is a success.
My role also allows me to collaborate closely with the wider team, which has been a fantastic way to build relationships across Phastar and gain a deeper understanding of different areas of the business. Attending events in person gives me the chance to see firsthand how our experts leverage the latest technology to tackle challenges and streamline clinical trials.
It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of projects that make a real impact, and working alongside such talented professionals not only helps me grow but also allows me to contribute to the team’s overall success.
What has been your favorite moment or achievement at Phastar so far?
Since joining Phastar, there have been many highlights, but one of my biggest recent achievements was working on SCOPE in Orlando, FL. It was one of the largest events we’ve ever participated in, with over 4,000 attendees. This year marked our first time at the event, making it an exciting new opportunity for the team.
From start to finish, it was a true team effort, involving everything from creating assets and processing data to providing on-site support. The event ran smoothly, and I was thrilled when we were awarded “Best of Show for 2025.“ It was a huge achievement for the team, and it was incredibly rewarding to see all our hard work come together so successfully.
What opportunities for growth or professional development have you had since joining the team?
I’ve been fortunate to travel to some of the events we support, which has been invaluable in helping me better understand both the audiences we engage with and the latest work happening across the wider team. Seeing everything firsthand has given me a clearer perspective on the bigger picture and has been instrumental in my growth within the role.
With so many Phastar colleagues working remotely, these events are also a great opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces and meet new ones in person. It’s always a highlight to bring the team together and strengthen those connections beyond the virtual workspace.
What do you value most about working at Phastar?
The supportive environment at Phastar is what makes my role so enjoyable and rewarding. From day one, the team has been welcoming and encouraging, which has really helped me build my confidence. Over the past year, I’ve had the opportunity to meet great people and learn so much along the way.
